Many of our clients have older homes built between 1900 and 1960. We specialize in working on & restoring these beautiful homes (we’ve remodeled well over 250 homes built before 1950 over the last 22 years). Older homes come with a number of challenges including lead-based paint, and asbestos materials that have to be properly disposed of, electrical and plumbing that is out of code that must be updated, structural framing issues that must be resolved, as well as space issues (old cabinets are much smaller than the current cabinets that we use today). Our in-house construction & design services allows us to ensure that all of these issues are dealt with up-front and a design is constructed that allows us to fully update the space while maintaining the character of the home.
The exterior project included removing the old cedar siding, installed period specific HardiePlank lap siding, replaced the old brick facade on the front, and painted the entire home. We love restoring older homes using updated materials and flashing systems. This insures the character of the home is retained while creating a durable exterior that will last another 100 years.
The interior project was a kitchen remodel including full demo of the existing kitchen, new flooring, new shaker style cabinets, new quartz countertops, a tile backsplash, updated lighting, updated electrical & plumbing fixtures, custom built-in storage, and painting. This completely updated and transformed the space from a 1940’s galley kitchen to a transitional design which complements the original character of the home while updating the space, the components, & storage options.
