To Whom It May Concern:,
This letter is a reference for Lifetime Remodeling Systems, From circumstance
and stubbornness, I am an inveterate do-it-yourselfer and so don’t
feel comfortable paying other people to do work. But when, in early
2006, I found I had to re-side my 1910 Northeast Portland four-square,
I knew the job was well over my head (in every sense). With considerable
trepidation, I hired LRS to remove my old, mineral shingle siding, insulate
and re-side with Hardi-plank and cedar trim.
My worries were completely unfounded. LRS did a spectacular job, an
opinion borne out by the dozens of compliments I’ve gotten from
passers-by since the job has been completed. In every aspect, I found
LRS to be stellar:
Gino clearly and carefully explained everything to me, answered my myriad
questions and proved forthright and knowledgeable. He or his dad, Ralph,
were at the site almost every single day, sometimes several times a
day. They take a very hands-on approach to their crews and are very
involved with the job.
I particularly appreciated LRS’s flexibility. As Gino said early
on, a restoration job can be very “fluid”. They worked with
me the whole way, dealing with changes and a host of not always straightforward
details, not to mention a schedule of constantly shifting deadlines.
I also appreciated the degree to which Gino understood and shared my
view that the original, historical character of the house should be
maintained as much as possible given the budget.
Despite all this, LRS absolutely stuck to their estimates. They very
precisely explained (and put in writing) exactly what they would do
and what it would cost. I was not charged one penny more than I agreed
to pay on the work orders. In fact, Gino had a number of good ideas
as the project went along that I feel dramatically improved the quality
of the final job.
Also noteworthy are LRS’s crews. To a man, they were polite, neat
and professional. They consistently cleaned up after themselves: sweeping,
taking out trash, picking up debris, even coiling hoses. As a result
of their care, our landscaping emerged largely unscathed. In particular,
Xavier and Artie are both excellent craftsman and great to work with.
I would trust LRS with any re-siding or re-modeling job, whether it
is new construction, a contemporary re-model or a historical restoration.
They are honest, reliable and skilled at their trade.
Sincerely,
Frederick C Lifton, Ph.D..
